The Cricket Writers' Club is delighted to announce a partnership with LV= Insurance, who are also official title partners of Men’s and Women’s Test Cricket in England & Wales
LV= Insurance has signed a partnership agreement with The Cricket Writers’ Club for 2021, including sponsorship of the prestigious CWC LV= Insurance County Championship Player of the Year Award.
LV= Insurance is the Official Title Partner of Men’s and Women’s Test Cricket in England & Wales, and the men’s County Championship, until the end of 2023. The LV= Insurance County Championship is already underway this season in a remodelled three-group format to help mitigate against the possible impact of COVID-19.
The partnership with CWC underlines the commitment from LV= to cricket across England and Wales, having already launched the £1million #Funds4Runs initiative – jointly funded with the ECB – which is helping those recreational cricket communities most impacted by the pandemic recover financially.
#Funds4Runs focuses on the main areas where access to cricket support or cricket itself has been limited, including children from deprived backgrounds, diverse communities, disability groups and women and girls’ programmes.
Jon Mansley, Sales and Marketing Director, LV= General Insurance said: “We are delighted to be partnering with the CWC and supporting the important role they play in reporting on the wonderful game of cricket, in all its formats. We are lucky to have so many talented journalists covering the game across all media - in written form across newspapers, magazines and online, in broadcast and through photography - and look forward to working with them more closely during what should be an enthralling summer of domestic and international cricket.”
“LV= Insurance have made a significant investment into cricket at all levels,” CWC chair George Dobell said. “We look forward to working with them to celebrate and support our great game.”
Recent winners of the County Championship Player of the Year award include Sir Alastair Cook, Simon Harmer and Rory Burns. In 2021 the award will be announced as the CWC LV= Insurance County Championship Player of the Year.
All CWC awards for 2021 will be presented at an event in London in early October (pandemic restrictions pending), where the club will also celebrate 75 years since formation. Awards will be announced via media release and on CWC’s social media channels.
