Chair of the Derek Hodgson Book Award judging panel, Paul Edwards, said: “Once again, the members of the committee choosing the shortlist for, and the eventual winner of, the Derek Hodgson Book Award were very impressed with the quality of cricket books published in the year to June 30, 2022.
“We have chosen to issue a slightly longer shortlist this year rather than two lists, but the 10 books chosen reflect a pleasing diversity of subjects and each book contains some very fine writing and, in one case, photography of the highest order.
“We congratulate all the authors on the list and we look forward to the task of choosing a winner and highly commended books with both great pleasure and a dollop of dread.”
